A global leader in computational science and AI-powered modeling software is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Marketing to lead its Japan marketing function. This role is key to shaping the company's presence in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and materials markets. As part of the Japan Leadership Team, you'll influence business direction, develop brand strategy, and drive lead generation in one of the company's most exciting markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a core member of the Japan Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning
- Analyze market trends and competitors to inform financial forecasts and market positioning
- Lead multi-channel marketing efforts targeting materials science, pharma, and biotech customers
- Build and execute effective brand awareness and lead generation campaigns
- Manage key sales enablement programs and optimize the customer journey
- Represent the company publicly through media engagement and industry panels
- Oversee planning and execution of conferences, trade shows, and key events
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
Experience:
- 8+ years in marketing, preferably in science, technology, or SaaS sectors
- Proven success in building and scaling marketing teams and strategic plans
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent (native level)
- English: Business level (used for reports, meetings, and cross-border collaboration)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with marketing and analytics tools (e.g., CRM, SEO, campaign platforms)
- Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a multinational or B2B technology environment
- Familiarity with life sciences, drug discovery, or materials innovation industries
- Cross-functional leadership experience in international matrix organizations
