Join a leading global exhibitions and events company as a Marketing Director in Tokyo, driving end-to-end marketing strategy across Japan.
This is a senior leadership role where you will own marketing strategy, digital acquisition, and brand growth across a portfolio of large-scale trade events. You will play a key role in driving visitor and exhibitor growth, leveraging data-driven marketing and collaborating closely with sales and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to drive exhibitor and visitor acquisition
- Align marketing initiatives with business and sales strategies through market segmentation and customer journey mapping
- Define and track KPIs and ROI, optimising campaigns based on performance data
- Lead digital marketing strategy including SEO, SEM, and paid media campaigns
- Implement lead generation and nurturing programmes using email marketing and automation tools
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities
- Present marketing performance insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 10-15+ years of experience in marketing (in-house or agency)
- Proven experience across full marketing lifecycle including ROI optimisation, lead generation, and campaign performance analysis
- Hands-on experience with SEO, SEM, digital advertising, and marketing automation tools
- Strong project management experience managing multiple campaigns and stakeholders
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Highly organised with excellent planning capabilities
- Results-driven with the ability to execute large-scale initiatives
- Proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Language Requirements:
- English: Business level
- Japanese: Native level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in B2B marketing or event/exhibition marketing
- Marketing certifications such as SEO or web analytics
