A leading global investment bank is seeking a senior FIG Relationship Manager to cover financial institution clients in Japan with a focus on FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities) products. This is a strategic VP to Director level role that combines relationship management, product expertise, and sales execution in Japan's institutional market.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand relationships with Japanese financial institutions
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients across FICC product lines
- Deliver fixed income, FX, rates, and credit solutions aligned with client strategies
- Coordinate closely with global trading, structuring, and research teams
- Ensure high standards of compliance and client service across all activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- At least 10 years of fixed income sales or FIG relationship management experience within a global or domestic investment bank in Japan
Technical Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of FICC markets, including bonds, currencies, and interest rate products
- Track record of managing complex institutional accounts and generating revenue
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to lead conversations with C-level executives and decision makers
Language Requirements
Japanese: Native-level fluency (written and spoken)
English: Business-level proficiency
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- FICC coverage experience across multiple asset classes or international jurisdictions
- Experience collaborating in global front-office environments
