An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Energy Market Sales Executive to join a globally recognized financial technology and market intelligence company in Tokyo. In this client-facing role, you will drive business growth by delivering industry-leading commodities data, energy market analytics, and financial intelligence solutions to major trading companies and enterprise clients across Japan.
Working closely with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers, you will develop strategic partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and help organizations make data-driven decisions across the power, agriculture, and metals sectors. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in commodities sales, B2B business development, or financial data solutions who thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the company's presence within Japan's energy and commodities markets.
- Identify and acquire new enterprise clients by presenting advanced market intelligence and analytics platforms.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders across trading companies and commodity organizations.
- Lead commercial negotiations and manage the full enterprise sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution.
- Consistently exceed monthly sales targets through proactive business development and account growth.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and customer activity using CRM platforms.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- Over 6 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in commodities, energy markets, financial services, or related commercial sales.
- Proven track record of exceeding B2B sales and business development targets.
- Experience negotiating complex enterprise agreements with senior executives.
- Strong understanding of commodities markets, including energy, power, agriculture, or metals sectors.
- Experience using CRM platforms to manage sales pipelines and customer relationships.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation and negotiation abilities with executive-level stakeholders.
- Results-driven mindset with exceptional relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple commercial opportunities simultaneously.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Conversational level
