    About the job

    A leading global financial research and intelligence firm is seeking an experienced Business Development Vice President to drive enterprise growth across Japan's institutional finance market. In this strategic commercial role, you will manage the complete business development lifecycle, from identifying new opportunities and building relationships with investment organizations to negotiating high-value partnerships.

    You will play a key role in expanding market presence by introducing innovative financial intelligence solutions to senior decision-makers across investment firms and financial institutions. This opportunity is ideal for a commercially driven professional with strong B2B sales, business development, and financial services experience who wants to accelerate their career within a global fintech environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the complete B2B business development process, including prospecting, client engagement, solution presentations, negotiations, and contract closing.
    • Develop strategic relationships with institutional investors, private equity firms, and financial organizations to generate new business opportunities.
    • Consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets through effective sales strategies and account development.
    • Present financial intelligence and research solutions to senior executives and key corporate stakeholders.
    • Ensure smooth transition of signed agreements to internal client success and delivery teams.
    • Maintain accurate sales pipeline records, forecasts, and client activity updates using CRM systems.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
    • Over 3 years of direct sales experience within institutional finance, investment management, private equity, or related financial services sectors.
    • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding challenging revenue targets.
    • Experience managing enterprise-level sales cycles, including complex negotiations and strategic partnerships.
    • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment organizations, and B2B solution sales.
    Soft Skills:
    • Strong executive-level presentation and communication skills.
    • Highly organized with excellent pipeline management and commercial planning abilities.
    • Self-motivated and capable of independently driving business growth initiatives.
    • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and build long-term partnerships.
    Language Requirements:
    • Japanese: Native level
    • English: Professional level

    Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience selling financial data, research platforms, market intelligence, or fintech solutions.
    • Existing network within Japan's institutional investment or financial services community.
    • Experience working in a global or multinational business environment.
    • Strong interest in financial markets, investment trends, and data-driven decision-making.
