A tier-1 global investment bank is seeking an experienced Yen Rates Sales professional to join its Global Markets business in Tokyo. This is a high-impact front office position focused on JPY Rates products, with a strong emphasis on JGBs and interest rate swaps. You will cover Japanese and international financial institutions, working closely with trading and internal stakeholders to deliver market-driven solutions in a fast-moving, client-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and client coverage for Yen Rates products, with a focus on JGBs and swaps
- Manage relationships with Japanese and international financial institution clients, delivering strategic market insights and trade ideas
- Partner closely with trading teams to execute client flow and provide competitive pricing solutions
- Identify market trends, client needs, and revenue opportunities to expand business pipelines
- Support portfolio growth by delivering strong client engagement, communication, and product positioning
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of Yen Rates sales experience at an investment bank in Japan
- Proven track record in selling JPY rates products such as JGBs and interest rate swaps
- Ability to work at Associate to VP level in a front office global markets environment
Soft Skills:
- Strong client relationship management and commercial mindset
- Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced market conditions
- Strong communication skills and collaboration across sales, trading, and internal stakeholders
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native-level fluency (written and spoken)
- English: Business-level proficiency
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Existing client network across Japanese or international financial institutions
