A top-tier global investment bank is seeking an experienced Yen Rates Sales professional to join its Global Markets team in Tokyo. This is a high-impact front-office role focused on delivering rates solutions to major Japanese and international financial institutions, offering strong career growth at Associate to VP level in a world-class trading and sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Yen Rates products, with a focus on JGB and Interest Rate Swaps.
- Manage and grow relationships with Japanese and international financial institution clients.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders across Global Markets to deliver tailored client solutions.
- Identify market opportunities and execute sales strategies to grow flow and revenue.
- Provide timely market insights and product expertise to support client decision-making.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of Yen Rates Sales experience within an investment bank in Japan
- Proven expertise in Yen Rates products, especially JGB and swaps
- Experience covering Japanese and/or international financial institutions
- Suitable for Associate to VP level candidates
Soft Skills:
- Strong relationship-building and client management capability
- Commercial mindset with the ability to perform in a high-paced front-office environment
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, results-driven approach with high ownership
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native (written and spoken)
- English: Intermediate to Business level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Established client network within Japanese or global institutional accounts
- Strong understanding of macro trends and Japan rates market dynamics
- Experience working in a global matrix organization
