A leading global medical device company is seeking a Procurement Manager to strengthen its supply chain operations in Japan. In this role, you will lead a purchasing team focused on minimizing lost sales, optimizing inventory, and ensuring stable product supply. Working closely with global and local teams, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth and commitment to delivering life-changing medical technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate purchasing plans based on product sales forecasts for the Japanese market to ensure stable supply.
- Optimize inventory levels while minimizing excess stock.
- Monitor order status and inventory to prevent supply disruptions.
- Collaborate with global commercial, marketing, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategy.
- Manage and integrate data, analyzing trends to identify challenges and implement solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in business, logistics, or systems.
Experience:
- Extensive expertise in supply chain management (SCM).
- 3-5 years of experience in team management.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in business-level English, especially reading and writing.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and take responsibility.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent.
- English: Business-level proficiency (especially in written communication).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or Oracle modules.
- Knowledge of SAP IBP/MRP systems.
- Strong data analysis skills to identify root causes and drive process improvements.
- Strategic thinking skills and overseas project experience are advantageous.
