A leading Global Investment Bank is seeking an ambitious Investment Banking Division (IBD) Analyst to join its investment banking team in Tokyo.
In this role, you will support Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Debt Financing, Equity Financing, and Corporate Finance Advisory transactions for domestic and international clients. You will gain exposure to both Japanese domestic transactions and cross-border investment banking deals, working alongside experienced investment banking professionals.
This opportunity is ideal for junior finance professionals with 2-5 years of experience in investment banking, corporate banking, or strategic consulting in Japan who are looking to develop their careers in M&A Advisory, Capital Markets, and Investment Banking.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the execution of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) transactions for domestic and international clients.
- Assist with debt financing and equity financing transactions.
- Contribute to corporate finance advisory projects involving Japanese and international companies.
- Support domestic and cross-border M&A transactions throughout the deal process.
- Conduct financial research and analysis to support transaction evaluation and advisory activities.
- Assist with the preparation of financial presentations, transaction materials, and client proposals.
- Collaborate with senior investment bankers and deal teams on transaction execution.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external parties involved in financing and advisory projects.
- Support the analysis of capital structure and financing options for corporate clients.
- Monitor relevant financial market developments and corporate transactions to support advisory activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of corporate finance experience within an investment bank, corporate bank, or strategic consulting firm in Japan.
- No more than 5 years of total professional experience, in line with the junior analyst level of the position.
- Practical understanding of corporate finance, investment banking, or financial advisory activities.
- Familiarity with M&A transactions, debt financing, equity financing, or corporate financial analysis.
- Experience working in Japan's financial services or strategic consulting environment.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Previous experience supporting M&A advisory, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, or corporate finance transactions.
- Exposure to cross-border M&A or international financing transactions.
- Experience preparing financial analyses, client presentations, or transaction-related materials.
- Familiarity with corporate valuation, financial modeling, or capital structure analysis.
- Experience working with Japanese corporate clients or international financial institutions.
- Strong interest in developing a long-term career in Investment Banking, M&A Advisory, and Capital Markets.
