Join a global food ingredients manufacturer as a Commercial Finance Manager supporting the Japan market.
In this strategic role, you will act as a finance business partner to the commercial and sales teams, supporting financial activities from pre-sales planning through post-sales performance analysis. Working closely with cross-functional teams across Japan and global operations, you will help drive revenue growth, profitability, and financial performance in one of the world's leading FMCG ingredient companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Define monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and support financial planning that drives business growth.
- Partner with sales leadership to develop actionable strategies for achieving revenue and profitability targets.
- Analyze sales trends, market data, and financial performance to generate insights that support business decision-making.
- Identify business opportunities and financial risks, ensuring proactive mitigation and escalation when required.
- Lead pricing strategy and margin management (PMM) in the Japan market to optimize profitability.
- Collaborate with the Malaysia-based Global Business Services (GBS) finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial closing.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial compliance across operational processes.
- Provide ongoing financial insights and performance analysis to support the Japan business team.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable management operations.
- Assist the Finance Director and General Manager with strategic and ad-hoc financial projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of finance experience within a global or multinational company.
- At least 3 years of FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical ability to transform financial data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to lead projects across departments and regions while maintaining strong coordination.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities across local, regional, and global environments.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent
- English: Business to Intermediate level
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Nissho Boki Level 3 or higher certification.
- Experience working with SAP systems.
- Experience working within a shared services finance environment.
