Project Manager team Lead at European insurance firm

Job Description

Lead a team of PMs, improve existing Agile processes, and build the PM team for a Europe-based Fortune 500 firm.

Roles/Responsibilities

  • Join an international team with an English-speaking Division Head, and drive successful project delivery from the PMO (Project Management Organization) team.
  • Upskill the PMO team and hire new employees, depending on needs.
  • Brush up on documentation and best practices, and fortify communications with overseas PMO teams.
  • As the projects will mainly be situated in the Digital Transformation team and Change Management team, you will collaborate with engineers, BAs (Business Analysts), and PMs (Project Managers) from the Japan office as well as abroad.
  • Manage issues and risks pertaining to ongoing projects.
  • Ensure prioritization of the company's project portfolio.

Required skills

  • 5-10 years of Project Management experience in IT/Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical counterparts
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as insurance or finance
  • Fluent in Japanese + business English or better

  • Ability to translate requirements from the business on applications and workflows, to technical (specs) requirements that are valid and reasonable for the technical teams.
