Senior Software Engineer - AI & API Platforms

We're partnering with a large enterprise organisation undergoing a major AI-driven transformation of their customer platforms. This program focuses on building next-generation AI-enabled user interfaces, modernising legacy systems, and developing scalable API platforms to support intelligent digital services.

This is a greenfield-heavy environment where engineers will help define patterns, break down legacy systems, and build modern services that power AI-driven experiences.

You'll be joining a high-performing agile squad working at the intersection of AI, APIs, and modern cloud architecture.

The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help design and build the next generation of platform services that power AI-enabled applications.

Key work includes:

• Building and evolving API platforms in .NET

• Developing services that support AI agents and intelligent user interfaces

• Contributing to Next.js front-end platforms that consume backend APIs

• Supporting Python-based AI agent services

• Migrating legacy monolithic applications into modern service-based architectures

• Working across data migration, service domains, and system integrations

• Collaborating with distributed teams including offshore engineering teams

• Helping establish engineering patterns and best practices for AI-enabled systems

Tech Stack

• .NET / C# (core backend API development)

• Python (AI agents and services)

• Next.js / modern web UI

• REST APIs & microservices architecture

• Cloud platforms and modern data architectures

What We're Looking For

We're looking for engineers who can hit the ground running in complex enterprise environments.

Key experience:

• Strong .NET API development experience

• Experience working with modern distributed architectures

• Exposure to Python or AI-driven development

• Experience building API-first platforms

• Comfortable working in fast-moving Agile squads

• Ability to navigate large, complex organisations

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and business stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI tools or LLM platforms (e.g. Claude, GPT, etc.)

• Exposure to agentic AI systems

• Financial services or large enterprise environment experience

• Experience working with legacy modernisation or system migrations
