We are seeking an experienced and motivated Collections Officer, this role plays a key part in supporting customers with overdue accounts, while working within a high-volume, contact centre-style environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to customers with overdue, over limit or overdrawn accounts
- Work with customers to set up suitable payment arrangements or obtain promises to pay
- Identify financial hardship indicators and refer customers to the appropriate internal support teams
- Initiate legal action where appropriate, in line with policy and procedures
- Support account remediation and administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in financial services or a contact centre environment is essential
- Proven ability to manage high call volumes (approximately 150 calls per day)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive customer conversations with empathy and professionalism
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, structured environment
