Investment Analyst - Investment Governance & Due Diligence
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Investment Analyst to join the investment team within the wealth management division of a leading global financial services organisation.
The team operates within an institutional investment environment, supporting investment oversight and delivering quality investment outcomes for clients across a sophisticated wealth management platform.
Working closely with investment professionals and stakeholders across the business, you will gain exposure to a broad range of local and global investment strategies across public and private markets.
What role will you play?
As an Investment Analyst, you will support the research, monitoring and due diligence of investment managers and products within an investment environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of investment managers, products and strategies across multiple asset classes.
- Supporting investment and operational due diligence, including research into investment processes, performance, risk management and organisational capabilities.
- Monitoring existing investment managers and products, identifying developments and issues requiring further investigation.
- Contributing to investment governance frameworks, policies and processes to support compliant and effective investment oversight.
- Analysing investment performance, risk metrics and portfolio data to generate insights for investment decision-making.
- Supporting portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation analysis.
- Working collaboratively with investment, risk, compliance and operational stakeholders to support manager onboarding and ongoing oversight.
- Preparing clear, concise research and analysis for a range of internal stakeholders.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of investment research, monitoring and governance processes.
What you offer
You will ideally bring:
- Experience or exposure to investment analysis, manager research, investment due diligence or financial markets.
- An understanding of investment strategies across a range of asset classes.
- Experience with quantitative analysis, including performance analysis, risk assessment, financial modelling or portfolio construction.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex investment information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to different audiences.
- An understanding of investment governance, regulatory frameworks or compliance requirements.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively to a broader team.
- Strong attention to detail and an interest in improving investment processes and outcomes.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, commerce or a related discipline.
CFA, RG146 or other relevant investment qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
