This is an exciting opportunity for a highly-skilled and passionate ICT/Applications Project Manager to join a high-profile government department to deliver a broad range of projects including data security, social housing allocation, and centralised case management system.

This role will be responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, executive, control and completion of a project, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. Unlike program directors, project managers may need executive guidance, coaching, and reviewing after initial drafting.

This is an initial contract until June 2023 with likelihood to extend.

Rate is up to $1,089.92 p.d + super.

Work set up is hybrid -- Parramatta with WFH once established and attend on-site when required.

About the Job:

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables and manage the planning and delivery of projects
  • Regularly communicate with key stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are met.
  • Manage project resources to ensure business objectives are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Monitor progress of the projects including risks, issues, dependencies and benefits.
  • Manage and monitor project budget and expenditure
  • Complete mandatory project documentation and fulfil record and reporting requirements for the projects.
  • Participate/facilitate procurement tender process and activities
  • Overseeing and maintaining detailed and up to date incoming and outgoing project documentation
  • Project closure

About You:

  • Five years + experience in managing complex a wide range of information technology projects, telecommunication, infrastructure, network, software, decommissioning, cloud computing, managed service outsourcing and tendering
  • Strong demonstrated background in applications and systems development projects of high complexity
  • Strong understanding of finance documentation and reporting. Highly skilled in developing briefing notes
  • Qualifications and experience in program and project management methodologies (Agile or PRINCE 2)
  • Government experience is a must
  • Strong influencing & negotiating skills, including being able to deal with and manage conflict with different stakeholders, escalating where appropriate & required
  • Passionate servant leader with a big heart
