Exciting opportunity for a Financial Administrator to be part of a high-profile NSW government department to support the optimal financial functioning a government state funding program.
This is an initial contract until November 2022, and will follow a hybrid work set-up (Sydney Olympic Park / Work from home)
About the Job:
Operate an effective risk-based assurance function and conduct audits and reviews of agency expenditure records and internal control structures consistent with contemporary practices which meet the Australian Government's requirements
Work collaboratively within the finance team to ensure financial management practices accord with best practice, are efficient and effective, and support the unit's business objectives.
Liaise, communicate with and provide advice to staff, other NSW Government entities and the Commonwealth Government in relation to natural disaster expenditure assurance and financial queries.
Maintain and operate an effective financial management function and ensure accurate and timely preparation of periodic reports
Apply sound project management methodology to all projects and deliverables, delivering within agreed deadlines and to appropriate quality standard, and conduct other project based work that supports the objectives of the department
2+ years of experience in a similar role wihin a large and complex organisation
In-depth understanding of the auditing standards, accounting standards and advanced auditing skills gained from practical and hands on audit experience
Full membership of CA or CPA or equivalent professional body
