Global company looking for an experienced - but still hands-on - UX Design Manager!
Drive user-centric design principles throughout the teams, focusing on the painpoints of users and how to deliver a thoughtful, useful and usable solution for them.
Work together with other, cross-functional, groups and teams within the organization.
Hands-on design work including creating user stories, scenarios, task flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Set up a Design System that encompasses best practices, guidelines and standards.
Lead a team of junior Designers and help them to improve their skills and grow their careers within the organization.
5+ years of experience in UX Design, either in a product company or a solutions/consulting firm or agency.
Strong understanding of user-centred design processes including Human-Centered Design.
Familiarity with design tools including Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma etc.
Experience leading teams, or large-size projects.
Experience designing for different devices (web, mobile, other) and platforms.
Experience working in agile development environment.
Native level Japanese and business level English

Experience setting up or managing a Design System
Understanding of UX research methodologies such as in-depth interviews, focus group studies, ethnographic research, and surveys.
Ability to pick up new things quickly. As things change in the organization quickly, you will have to learn and adjust quickly as well.
Interest in working with people from different countries and backgrounds.

They have made name for themselves with their technology development, creating products for clients that support them with solutions from paperless/digital transformation to drone tracking of large-scale equipment maintenance etc. The project scope will be very broad, and you will be able to tackle a myriad of problems by thinking out-of-the-box. Although the company has a start-up environment, they are a large organization and have structures in place to allow for large-size and challenging projects.
