Roles/Responsibilities

• They're looking for a Cyber Security Manager to work remotely with global colleagues for a renowned life insurance firm situated in Tokyo.
• As Manager of Japan's Cyber Security Functional Unit, you will be required to play a crucial role. The purpose of the Information Security group is to preserve the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company's and customers' information in a proactive manner.
• Oversees services supplied by offshore teams to thoroughly cover functions of the global information security framework based on NIST CSF and leads the Cyber Security section, which has eight associates.
• Lead by example in the functional unit, demonstrating hands-on work for daily duties and proposing solutions to improvement projects.
• Immediate focuses include: * Enhance security posture, strengthen controlling email-based threat and application vulnerabilities with advanced threat discovery and response capabilities.
• Assist in improving ransomware recovery to ensure company continuity.
• Boost enterprise readiness to respond to and recover from major cyber-attacks.
• Lead cyber security response to internal/external audits and management of identified issues/actions.
• Promote cloud use from the standpoint of security and risk management.

Required skills

• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity-related profession, including 3 years or more of people management experience.
• Proficiency in business English and advanced Japanese.
• Ability to write accurate reports in appropriate plain language for all levels of employees and present them orally.
• Willingness to learn new technology and information security concepts.
• Experience developing business applications or hardening IT infrastructures.
• A keen interest in larger aspects of information security and risk management, such as IT risk governance and third-party risk management.
• Financial industry experience or interest, notably in life insurance.
• CISSP or comparable certification is a bonus * Familiarity with regulatory/industry standards (NIST CSF, PCI DSS, FISC)
