    Morgan McKinley are partnering exclusively with a leading Australian retail and hospitality group that holds a significant portfolio of licensed venues with gaming facilities. Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to join their small dedicated team and play a key role in strengthening their risk management capabilities.

    You will partner with key senior business leaders and a variety of internal teams to drive innovation, change and education. You will work to build risk awareness, embed robust risk practices and mature the risk culture across a diverse and evolving business.

    The team are a passionate bunch that enjoy collaborating together, in a friendly environment with a customer first focus. You will report to a highly experienced Senior Manager, who is looking for their next 2IC.

    Responsibilities:

    • Become a strategic risk manager, looking for innovative ways to approach risk, assurance and compliance.
    • Act as a key business partner, providing expert risk advice, training and awareness to uplift the risk awareness.
    • Champion a robust risk-aware culture, proactively building capabilities and empowering executive leadership teams across the business to effectively manage their risks.
    • Work across Compliance to ensure that regulatory obligations are met and processes are strengthened especially across gaming and licensing laws.
    • Conduct 2LOD activities along with a small amount of 1LOD activities, including risk assessments, report writing, analysis and policy writing.

    Requirements:

    • 8+ years experience working in a variety of risk, compliance, or assurance roles across non-Financial Services businesses.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills are key, with the ability to build rapport, educate, influence and drive change as this role is about softly influencing and business partnering.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills are essential as you will be preparing reports for the Board and ELT.
    • A passion and enthusiasm for risk, compliance and assurance being comfortable in an ever-changing, innovative environment.

    This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic organisation where you will work directly with a variety of senior stakeholders and teams. The business offers hybrid flexible working, with two days in the Sydney office. No two days will be the same and you will play a critical role in the evolving business!

    You will need to hold full Australian working rights and be based in Sydney.
