    Head of Compliance

    Sydney CBD Permanent $160k - $180k Hybrid

    About the job

Morgan McKinley are partnering exclusively with an Australian Foreign Exchange business, who are seeking a highly experienced Head of Compliance to take ownership of the business unit.

This is a business critical role where you will manage a small compliance team, conduct assessments of the current function and work to implement and uplift processes and procedures. You will operate as the AML/CTF Compliance Officer to ensure all regulatory matters (including AFSL requirements) are adhered to whilst providing strategic regulatory advice to internal management.

The business has an excellent culture, has been steadily growing over the years and this role would be perfect for someone highly experienced (maybe looking for a step up from Senior Manager) who enjoys working in a smaller environment where you can really make an impact! The business offers hybrid working in Central Sydney CBD and is looking for someone to join as soon as possible.

    Responsibilities:

    • Overseeing and maintaining compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to Australian and international regulations, including ASIC and AML/CTF laws.
    • Developing compliance programs and providing strategic regulatory advice to management.
    • Leading all compliance-related training and managing incident/breach reporting processes.
    • Acting as the primary liaison with regulators, auditors, and external service providers.
    • Managing the review of all marketing and product documents while also mentoring a small compliance team.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 8 years experience working in a compliance role across smaller Financial Services businesses, ideally in a similar domain.
    • Demonstrated understanding of how to design, implement, and monitor compliance frameworks, strategies, and systems.
    • Strong organisation, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong engagement and mentoring skills.

This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the organisation, assisting with the development and implementation of the company's compliance management framework.

Please note, you must hold full Australian working rights to be considered for this position and only successful candidates will be contacted.
