The Opportunity
Working closely with senior finance leaders, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining a strong control environment and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You'll be encouraged to challenge existing processes, identify efficiencies and contribute to the ongoing development of the finance function.
This is a hands-on role that requires someone who can confidently move between operational accounting, financial control and analytical work while building strong relationships across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of month-end and year-end financial reporting activities.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, timely and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform financial analysis and provide meaningful insights to support business decision-making.
- Monitor key balance sheet accounts and investigate variances where required.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure finance policies and procedures remain compliant.
- Coordinate audit requirements and prepare supporting documentation for external auditors.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and operational efficiency.
- Develop, review and maintain finance procedures and process documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to deliver high-quality finance support.
- Assist in mentoring junior team members and contribute to the successful delivery of team objectives.
About You
To be successful, you'll bring a combination of technical accounting capability, commercial thinking and a genuine desire to improve processes.
You'll ideally have:
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Approximately 6+ years' experience across financial reporting, management accounting or financial control.
- Previous experience within financial services, lending, banking or another regulated industry will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills together with proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- The confidence to question existing processes and recommend practical improvements.
- A collaborative approach with excellent stakeholder management skills.
