An exciting opportunity for an experience Governance Officer to join a leading Government Department for a 12 month contract, based in Sydney CBD.
This leading Government Department is seeking an Enterprise Senior Governance officer for a 12 month contract, based in Sydney. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise governance framework and best practice governance processes. You will also provide innovative and solution-focused management, review and improvement of governance processes.
Provide expert governance guidance on the efficient and effective operations of governance committees, facilitating effective, strategic and evidence based decision making.
Critically review papers to ensure the quality of material submitted and follow up where clarity or repositioning is required
Assist in the regular review of governance processes including analysing existing processes, recommending and implementing changes, documenting new process and procedures to support compliance, continuous improvement and innovative best practice in governance
Assist with establishing and maintaining cross-cluster governance community of practice and system governance groups
Assist in the management, reporting and review of the Compliance Framework.
Draft responses to the Department and Ministerial requests for information, briefing notes, high level correspondence, Parliamentary information and Cabinet submissions.
Respond to ad hoc reporting and management requests to support decision-making and to optimise operational effectiveness.
3-5 years of experience in a Governance position.
Experience in Government is preferred.
