Job Description

A global institutional trading network, is seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to join their team. Unique opportunity, based in Sydney CBD, to build out the Australian compliance

The role

Unique opportunity, based in Sydney CBD, to build out the Australian compliance function serving as the central regulatory and compliance mechanism to the company's Australian market operations, although assistance may also be provided to the APAC jurisdiction as required. Communication is essential to this role with it directly reporting to the APAC Head of Legal and Compliance based in Hong Kong. A strong competency in stakeholder management, therefore, is important to both facilitating advice and guidance internally and fulfilling legal reporting requirements to external regulators. Being proactive in this complex, highly dynamic regulatory environment is essential to the success of this role.

Interacting with a range of departments and the company's affiliates, the role also will be responsible for providing regulatory foresight and planning; identifying, developing, maintaining and executing various compliance control activities. Bringing innovation to existing policies and frameworks, this Senior Manager role will play a central part in influencing and further embedding a strong compliance culture within the business.

The Applicant

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in equities trading compliance in Australia or the APAC region. Previous regulatory experience at least one of the following is also required: ASIC, ASX, broker-dealer, electronic trading firm or 'regulatory services' audit firm.

The role also requires a strong understanding of current and upcoming trading technology in the industry. Importantly, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in staying compliant with the dynamic regulatory and compliance environment.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in establishing, executing and reporting various compliance based activities is highly desirable.

The candidate should also have a highly refined competency in adopting a commercial mindset, with a willingness to learn and adapt to a new business as part of the role.
