Exciting opportunity for a Policy Manager to join the Policy and Regulatory Reform team within a high-profile NSW government agency. The successful candidate will manage small agile teams of policy officers, to lead a range of policy projects, including the development of policy responses and regulatory reform proposals across the department.
This is an initial contract for 6-months, and will follow a hybrid/flexible work set up.
About the role:
Drive and manage policy initiatives, as well as influencing other areas of Government toachieve the strategic objectives
Provide expert policy advice and lead policy initiatives and matters
Research, analyse and review complex policy issues, identifying emerging issues, developing evidence based options, and recommend solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating their engagement in, and contribution to, the identification and development of policy solutions and to inform policy decision making
Monitor, evaluate and report on the development and implementatio of policies to identify issues and ensure the achievement of desired outcomes
Significant experience in a policy role within government is essential.
Ideally with previous experience working in large and complex environments within the government and public sector
Demonstarted experience and skills in leading or mentoring teams
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience in writing economic policies is an advantage
