Purpose of the role
The position will play an essential role in the complex audit environment, working across the business Australia wide. Through leading and supervising the audit team, the role will ensure an overall, high-quality delivery is achieved in the design, execution and reporting stages. There also exists a need to proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation - aligning current strategies and methodologies to the businesses' vision, as well as recent regulatory developments and findings as a result of the Royal Commission.
Fostering positive and functional relationships with key stakeholders - both internally and externally. The role is responsible for undertaking day-to-day audit activities, sharing insights and key findings with relevant staff, across all business units. Here, an ability to negotiate and communicate effectively to meet minimum standards are central competencies to ensure the success of the role. A high degree of accountability also resides with the role, taking ownership of the quality and depth of testing.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in Audit methodologies, standards and procedures, accruing 6+years of experience in Banking and Financial Services.
Previous experience leading teams and demonstrated experience in influencing and negotiating with stakeholders is also necessary to succeed in the role, recognising the broad reporting responsibilities as part of the Audit function
The role will also require the candidate to be self-motivated, producing quality end-to-end audits within a highly dynamic, time-intensive work environment.
