Morgan McKinley recently hosted an IT Roundtable discussion run by Paul McMahon of CTO Talk Tokyo.
The event, titled “Onboarding new Software Developers” was a popular one with a full room in attendance. The discussion at the event revolved around the successes and challenges facing technology leaders when onboarding new software developers.
As any technology leader in Tokyo is aware, finding a competent developer and getting them up to speed and productive has always been a challenge. This challenge has, however, become increasingly more demanding as the role of the developer has moved beyond the traditional coding element and into stakeholder management and process improvement. As such, Paul and his group discussed some best practices in dealing with the changing nature of the developer role.
The event was followed by some networking after the discussion and the participants walked away with some practical tools to help them tackle the modern dynamics of a critical element in managing software developers
