Earlier this month, Morgan McKinley worked in association with Kreab, the AICPA and NASBA governing bodies and TAC; a Japanese school specializing in qualifications, to hold an event for those interested in the USCPA.
Over 100 attended the event and joined us in Shibuya for an informative event titled, “Making Use of the USCPA in Japan.”
Speakers from the Morgan McKinley family included;
- Nagako Mori – Rakuten
- Hiroyuki Ikarugi – Coca Cola Bottles
- Takayuki Gunge – Protea
Nagako Mori gave us insight into her transition from the Olympic team to become a finance professional. Hiroyuki Ikarugi spoke in depth about the differences between being a Generalist and Specialist. And Takayuki Gunge shared his experiences, advice and the steps he took to become a Head of Finance. All 3 speakers discussed how the USCPA enhanced their careers. Morgan McKinley also shared information on market trends like Diversity and Overseas Expansion in Japanese companies. Afterwards, we opened up the seminar to a free question and answer session. The speakers and Morgan McKinley members engaged with many students giving them ideas on where we thought their careers could go with the USCPA qualification and how we could help in the future.
It was a great opportunity for students to interact with successful Finance professionals and with us in a casual setting.
Morgan McKinley will likely be holding similar informative events, so feel free to let us know if you might be interested in the future as well.
