Maintenance and Calibration Engineer

Job Description

An opportunity for a Maintenance and Calibration Engineer has come up within a Pharmaceutical Plant. This successful candidate will have a strong calibration background.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Site Maintenance Managers, Planners and API Maintenance Lead to ensure the site maintenance and calibration program is delivered.
• Ensure efficient operation of operation of all plant equipment.

• Lead compliance adherence for the maintenance department and the ownership / update of related SOPs.
• Ensure OOTs (out of tolerance) & PSV failures are effectively root caused and closed out and support the development of the equipment annual review.
• Liaise with equipment vendors and various technicians to ensure appropriate and best practice maintenance and calibration methods and schedules for the site.
• Assist with GMP, Safety and Environmental internal and external audits where required.
• Support the Maintenance Department in the planning, coordination, and completion of Maintenance Shutdowns.
• Delegate for the API Maintenance Lead when required.

Requirements:

• Third level qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or related discipline or demonstrate the equivalent maintenance experience.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a maintenance setting, ideally in a Manufacturing GMP environment.
• Knowledge of World Class Maintenance and Calibration practices and expectations.
• In depth understanding of maintenance systems and work practices for both instrumentation/electrical and mechanical crafts.

• Experience working with and strong understanding of CMMS systems such as SAP and Procal is essential.
• Good understanding of reliability techniques such as RCM, FMECA & Root Cause Failure Analysis
• Knowledge of Irish, European and International Codes, Standards and Practices
• Knowledge and understanding of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC & KATA methodology.
• Leadership, communication, decision making and problem-solving skills with a proven track record for collaborating and working well within a team.
