On IT recruitment desk here we have seen our busiest January on record, and are delighted to report that Cork in particular is booming across all IT divisions.

The Munster employment market as a whole is particularly busy with IT infrastructure and support job opportunities, and Cork is fast becoming the IT hub to be in!

Is it officially time for you to make the move? Secure a new role on the IT front in Munster?

With a recent article in the Irish Examiner indicating that "Cork and Limerick will be barometer of progress in 2018" as Dublin is soon to become “unsustainably dominant in terms of population and economic growth”, it is time to start building out the populations of Cork and Limerick. Considering what Cork in particular has to offer on an IT front with a number of exciting companies either already based in, or making a move to setup in Cork, why would you not consider moving to the real Capital of Ireland?

1) There's a number of leading companies based in Cork

AlienVault, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, TrendMicro, Malwarebytes, McKesson - just to name a few and all offering good benefits package, work-life balance and career progression opportunities.

2) Lower rent and general cost of living, less traffic

Reduce your commute to work by up to an hour each way, better quality of life overall? According to Numbeo, you would need around €2,400 to maintain the same standard of living as you would at €3,000 in Dublin!

3) Cork is a university city

As such, opportunities to advance education here is excellent with many companies are offering educational assistance to employees.

4) Lifestyle

Work-life balance is a real big seller here in Cork. You commute time is going to be dramatically less than Dublin, plus we've some great festivals including Live at the Marquee and The Jazz Festival.

If you’re thinking yes to all the above, and would like more information on IT job opportunities in Cork, or take a look at my profile below to view the opportunities I currently have.
