Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a QC Analyst? Please see some feedback from a recent QC Analyst I've placed to help gain some insight.
1. What does a typical day look like for you?
My day starts with checking the purified and waste water systems. Next is the morning meeting where we learn the production schedule for that day (or upcoming days). Then I spilt between testing raw materials, in-process chemistry or final products. This also involves reviewing paperwork for release of batches.
2. Why did you get into this role?
Pharmaceutical has strong presence in Cork. There are many opportunities to move within or between companies. Pay and opportunities are good. And work is interesting
3. What do you like about the position?
No day is the same, and you are supporting production or doing projects. It’s good to be involved in helping make important drugs, and know that you are making a difference.
4. Is there any advice you could give to help get into this sector?
Do your homework! Know what companies are around, what they do, what positions they are hiring etc. use LinkedIn and have a tailored CV for each position. Network, network, network. Don’t blanket apply, try get feedback from your rejections so you can improve. Don’t give up!
5. What was your experience working with Morgan McKinley like?
Very positive experience with Morgan McKinley and Julieann. Gave me a lot of time and advice before and after the process. Hope we can work together again sometime (maybe not too soon though )
