An overwhelming majority of professionals in Australia (97%) felt that the option to work flexibly has a positive impact on productivity.
The Morgan McKinley Flexible Work Practices Survey 2016 revealed that almost three-quarters (77%) of Australian professionals felt that they worked beyond their contracted hours with 22% surveyed working 10 hours or more than their agreed hours.
Despite the long hours culture for working professionals in Australia, our research shows that companies are making progress with offering a work life balance through flexible working options - 65% of firms are driving flexibility with 80% of employees having the option to work from home or have flexible start/finishes.

- 63% of employees felt obligated to work in excess of their contractual/office hours
- 76% of employees have the option to work flexibly, with 65% of organisations focused on driving flexibility

- 50% of employees work remotely occasionally while 42% do it regularly, with 84% provided with the necessary tools
