Morgan McKinley's iLearn recognised as Best In-House Training Programme at 2014 Asia Pacific awards and highly commended for Best Marketing Campaign for our candidate-centric approach.

Morgan McKinley has won the Best In-house Training category and was highly commended for Best Marketing Campaign category in the 2014 Global Recruiter Asia Pacific Recruitment Awards. The Global Recruiter Asia Pacific Industry Awards are the only recognised awards within the recruitment industry that celebrate success, growth, innovation and achievement within the region. 

The judges at the Global Recruiter Asia Pacific awards said:

“Congratulations to Morgan McKinley. It has clearly demonstrated how its business in China, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan and Singapore worked together to help deliver a comprehensive, innovative, all-encompassing programme from on-boarding to management development. ”

Best In-house Training

In the Best In-house Training category, entrants were asked to provide evidence of training provision that moves a recruiter forward in their career, together with proof that the training is tailored to the workforce and monitored for effectiveness. Morgan McKinley met all of these criteria, supporting its entry with testimonials from attendees in its iLearn development initiatives.

iLearn, created and led by Amanda Wildman, Morgan McKinley’s Global Head of Learning and Development, is closely aligned to the company’s “Career Ally” mission. Amanda commented, “We are delighted to accept the award, which is an endorsement of our new approach to training that meets the unique needs of the business as well as individual recruiters. Morgan McKinley’s Career Ally mission is to develop long-term relationships with our candidates, offering support and advice to them at every stage of their career. This enables us to nurture pools of talent and better serve our clients.”

“Consequently we needed to develop a ground-breaking learning and development philosophy. iLearn, a mix of virtual classroom training, mentoring, coaching, projects and e-learning, provides a transparent and defined programme of training in the Group, with each personal development plan tailored to the individual employee’s own needs.”

The judges were impressed with Morgan McKinley’s Management Development Leadership Programme (MDLP) initiative, a six day programme that sits within iLearn, which is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. All managers at the company’s Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore offices have attended MDLP training, with plans to roll out across Japan and Mainland China by December 2014.

Best Marketing Campaign

Morgan McKinley was further highly commended for its candidate-centric marketing, with the judges referring to its marketing as, “A well-crafted campaign directed at the candidate which included highly effective monitoring. The campaign delivered value both to the candidate and to the recruiter’s brand.”

Emma Nguyen commented, “Candidates are an extremely important target audience in our business. The competition for candidates is fierce and we know from research that candidates are looking for a trusted Career Ally and emphasised the need for regular communication.
